Documentary Wedding Photographer for English-Speaking Couples in Bordeaux & Southwest France

Your Wedding Story. Beautifully Told.

I’m Gavin, a British wedding photographer living in Bordeaux and working with couples who come here to celebrate in one of the most beautiful parts of France.

My approach to photography is documentary in style. I keep interruptions to a minimum so you can spend the day with the people who matter most. I guide gently when it is time for portraits or group photographs, and the rest of the time I blend in and watch for the moments that matter. The nerves, the laughter, the joy and the tears all come together in a beautiful set of photographs that capture your wedding as it truly felt: full of life, humour and connection.

I will be there for the big moments and the quiet gestures without ever turning your wedding into a photoshoot. I am easygoing, friendly and always focused on making sure you and your guests feel comfortable.

The Bits You Planned. The Bits You Didn’t. All of It.

Photography with feeling

Every wedding has its own rhythm; bursts of laughter, quiet anticipation, happy tears, and everything in between. I look for it all. My photographs are about real moments, beautifully framed, so you can relive them for years to come.

Sometimes that’s digital, sometimes it’s on film, a little extra character for the moments that deserve it.

A calm presence from first chat to final frame

I’ll bring people together when it’s time for group shots, suggest the perfect moment for portraits, and keep the day flowing with ease. The rest of the time, I’m moving with the day, always ready for the next thing that’s about to happen.

Couples tell me they feel relaxed, well looked after, and surprised by just how much they see in the final gallery.

You can see how that plays out in the portfolio.

Made for Southwest France

Based in Bordeaux, I work across the Dordogne, Gironde, and neighbouring regions. Couples often tell me it’s a relief to have a native English speaker here, already local, without having to fly someone in (you get the British photographer without the British weather).

Each location has its own light, pace, and personality. Whether it’s a sunlit courtyard, a vineyard at golden hour, or a town hall steeped in history, I work with the setting to bring out its character. You can read more about planning a wedding in Southwest France for venue ideas and local tips.

Your story, told beautifully

You’ll receive a complete gallery of high-resolution images, carefully edited for colour, detail, and longevity. Photographs you’ll love now and decades from now.

If that sounds like your kind of thing, you can check your date, explore the packages, or take a look through the portfolio to see how it all comes together.
